Padraig O’Sullivan, Managing Partner of the edge partnership, recently addressed the Business Forum conferences in Melbourne and Sydney where the nations top accountants, members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, were in attendance. Speaking about leading in the post google era, he talked about how professional service providers have to lead differently in 2012 onwards. His core message centred on the fact that the access to information has never been easier. Google has democratised information. Providers of services can no longer rely upon the fact that they are the ‘smartest guy in the room’.
Customers and staff now have the same access to information on a level we have never before seen. Providers have to find ways to engage with customers, help make meaning out of complexity and find relevance in the way clients and staff are working. Only then will they position themselves differently to competitors.
The talks were very well received.
